Lent

As part of our school mission to ensure that every child knows they are loved, inspired by the example of Don Bosco, we were delighted to take part once again in CAFOD’s Big Lent Walk.

The Big Lent Walk is a nationwide initiative aimed at raising funds for CAFOD (Catholic Agency for Overseas Development). Every £1 raised through the Big Lent Walk will help fight poverty globally in countries like Afghanistan, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Sudan. By participating in the Big Lent Walk, we are not only encouraging our students to stay active but also teaching them the importance of compassion and generosity.

Thank you to everyone who donated so generously. This year, CAFOD’s Big Lent Walk is raising money to support communities around the world facing poverty, providing access to clean water, education, and essential resources to help families build a brighter future.

Before setting off on our walk around the school field, each year group gathered for a special time of worship with Fr Stephen, reflecting on the meaning of Lent and the importance of walking in solidarity with others. We ended our session in the prayer garden, taking a quiet moment to reflect and offer our intentions for those in need.
