Upcoming Science Topic
After half-term, we will be beginning our new science topic: diet, drugs and lifestyle.

As part of this topic, we will be teaching the children: the impact of diet on overall health; drugs and their effects on the body, and the dangers of smoking and vaping.

If you have any further questions regarding the content to be taught, please do not hesitate to get in contact.

Miss Green, Miss Wilder and Miss Taylor (Science Lead)

Requesting Resources
We kindly ask that your child brings a box into school by 7th June (boxes are welcomed from the 3rd June). A shoe box would be ideal. The children will be using the boxes to make a memory museum as part of our upcoming art topic. If you are unable to provide a box before the aforementioned date, please do let your child's class teacher know.

Also, we just wanted to take the time to inform you of how incredibly proud we were of the year 6's, last week. They approached their SATs with determination and demonstrated great resilience. They truly are super stars!

Year 6 Play for Parents - Wednesday, 10th July - Arrival 1.30pm for a 1.45pm start
Leavers Mass - Wednesday, 17th July - 9.30am

Leavers Hoodies
As we are sure you are aware, your child brought home their leavers hoodie yesterday.

Hoodies are not to be worn to school until after the SATs are complete. The first day they can be worn to school is Friday, 17th May. Hoodies are to be worn alongside full school uniform.

We would also like to take the time to thank our wonderful parents who organised the hoodies. We know that a lot of hard work goes into it and so, are very grateful.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher.

Home Learning Resources
Following discussions at parents evening, I would like to direct all parents towards a website which I feel will be beneficial in supporting home learning in the subject of maths.

I have shared with you before the mathsbot website with the fantastic resource of unlimited arithmetic papers. The link to this can be found below:

https://mathsbot.com/primary/ks2

However, the website has updated this resource further. The children can now complete an arithmetic paper and then, select questions (by clicking on the question number) which they found challenging to practice further. For example, if your child is finding multiplying fractions by whole numbers challenging, you can select just this question and then, generate a new test with questions in just this style.

To access this resource , please use the link below:

https://mail.mathsbot.com/primary/ks2Mini

I will continue to update the shared link which can be found above, with a range of helpful resources, so please do utilise this.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
