Cultures Week

13th January 2020

Cultures Week

On Monday afternoon we had a wonderful time celebrating some of the many cultures we have at St Anne's. There were families from India, Poland, Ireland, Spain, The Philippines, Hungry, Venezuela and Brazil who very kindly came with flags, books, money and other interesting things for us to look at.

We also got to try lots of delicious foods from around the world! In the background, Year 3 played African drums and some of our pupils performed Irish dancing.

It was a brilliant opportunity for us to find out about traditions, food and languages that are different from our own. A huge thank you to everyone who was involved in the celebration.

On Tuesday, Years 2, 3 and 4 took part in International Dance workshops to try out some traditional dancing from around the world.

On Wednesday it was fantastic to see so many of the children wearing traditional dress from their own culture or of another culture.

This week has been a wonderful celebration of differences from around the world.
