From the moment Steel arrived, the children were captivated, listening eagerly, asking fantastic questions, and feeling truly inspired by his message.

They were running to raise much-needed funds for the Princess Alice Hospice, a charity that holds a special place in their hearts. 

The children were asked to use their imaginations to create a very special piece of art that helps to promote ‘harmony and friendship amongst other countries’ - a picture, collage, garden display, sculpture – anything creative!

It was a very difficult decision, as the standard of entries was so high and the Mayor of Runnymede,
Cllr Elaine Gill really appreciated the effort everyone put into their artwork.

Although St Anne’s School was not selected as the winner on this occasion, the Mayor awarded us Highly Commended.

The enthusiasm and eagerness with which our budding scientists explained their experiments made the judging process particularly challenging. Each presentation was a testament to the students' hard work, creativity, and passion for science.

It wasn't just the students who got into the spirit - the staff also donned their most spectacular outfits. Everywhere you looked, there was a burst of colour and creativity. It was a truly fantastic day that showcased our collective love for stories and imagination.

In The Bible it  says how amazing and important different cultures and languages are. In Revelations 7:9, it shows that even though we're all different, we can still come together, which is a sneak peek of how God wants to save and include everyone, no matter where they're from. So, highlighting and experiencing different cultures brings us all together and makes us feel valued and loved!

As part of our Cultures & Inspirations Week, children came to school wearing clothing that they felt represented and celebrated their culture, or any culture from around the world that they wished to celebrate. They could wear full Traditional Dress, the colours of a country’s flag or items that represent their chosen cultures! We had some fabulous traditional costumes, with lots of different countries represented.

We invited all children to 'Dress as Digits' by wearing clothing that features numbers or is related to mathematics. We had lots of t-shirts that featured a numerical design and very creative homemade outfits. 

On the day, the children took part in number-related activities designed to enhance their mathematical skills and foster a love for numbers all while promoting the messages of the NSPCC.

On Monday, 27th January 2025, 59 excited children (and 8 adults) set off to make memories at the annual year 5 Ufton Court residential. On our arrival, we were transported back to Tudor times to take part in a mission. Did the residents of Ufton Court manor house harbour any priests?

Throughout our time at Ufton Court, the children got to take part in many activities, including crime and punishment, archery and the infamous raid. This year, the children also made their own bows and arrows and practised their fire-making skills. 

Jubilee Assembly

In the Catholic Church, a Jubilee or Holy Year is a special year of forgiveness and reconciliation, in which people are invited to come back into right relationships with God, with one another, and with all creation.

A Jubilee Year is celebrated by the Church every 25 years. This has been the case since 1470, when Pope Paul changed it from every 50 years.

The theme is Pilgrims of Hope. Pope Francis has invited Catholics to renew our hope and discover a vision that can “restore access to the fruits of the earth to everyone”. We are also invited to rediscover a spirituality of God’s creation in which we understand ourselves as “pilgrims on the earth” rather than masters of the world.

St. Anne’s Catholic School is celebrating the Jubilee.  We are pledging to stand in solidarity with our global family.

Since the success of the first book, she has published a further four books in the series. She has also written a book called 'The Elephant Squad' about young carers. 

The children were really engaged listening to Kerry's story and loved listening to her read an extract from one of her books.

Everyone enjoyed the lovely hot chocolate, delicious treats & festive music.

What a lovely way to start the Christmas Holidays.

From reindeer and snowmen, to twinkling lights and jolly Father Christmas, each jumper was unique and brought a smile to everyone's face.

It was a wonderful way to celebrate the season and bring our school community together in a fun and festive way.

 We’re always grateful to our kitchen staff for their hard work, but most particularly on this special day!

The impact you will have made to other people’s lives is incredible and something, as a school, we should be truly proud of.

During the workshops, the children not only learnt about the significance of Christmas, but they also had the chance to interact with real animals on the school field, enhancing their experience and understanding of the story.

This is an important opportunity for our children to learn about their food, about children who may not have enough food and how we can serve others - living out our Catholic Social Teaching Values. 

We encourage children to bring in tins of food or non-perishable items. 

We donated our collection to The Salvation Army, who will distribute it amongst those who need it in the community.

In History, Year 2 are learning about the lives of Florence Nightingale, Mary Seacole and Edith Cavell and to enhance the children’s learning of this topic, they had a Nurturing Nurses Day.

To keep in character for the day, the children came to school dressed as a nurse or soldier from the past.

On the day, ‘Florence Nightingale’ from the Freshwater Theatre Company visited the children. This was a wonderful experience for the children, where they travelled back in time with Florence Nightingale and learnt about her life from when she was a little girl.

During the visit, the children took part in a themed workshop and practical activities for the children to enhance their learning of this subject.

To celebrate the Olympics taking place this summer, in Paris, we hosted our own ‘Olympics Opening Ceremony’.  Our opening ceremony marked the start of our own ‘St. Anne’s Olympics’, in the form of Sports Day.

The children created a flag to represent their chosen country, which they proudly waved as we completed our own laps around the school field, mirroring that of the opening ceremony.

There was lots to enjoy from inflatable obstacle courses, penalty shoot out game, hook a duck, tombola's with much more on offer for everyone.

They enjoyed a selection of croissants, pain au chocolat, toast, cereal, fruit juice, tea and coffee. 

The children had an amazing day inspecting Victorian artefacts; trailing around the museum, dressing up, sketching and even managed to find some time to make beautiful Victorian cards.

It was such a wonderful day of learning and fun. The children had the time of their lives!

So, who wants to be a Victorian?
The children (although they are thankful for all the incredible Victorian inventions) decided that modern living was indeed better! 

4R visited Chertsey Museum on Friday 24th May and also had the best time ever!

The school gathered in the hall to celebrate a liturgy with songs and prayers for Mary.  This was a beautiful way to celebrate Our Lady.

Father Graham blessed our new school hall at the beginning of our service for Mary.

They invited children in all year groups to participate and create a piece of artwork. It could be a self-portrait or simply a piece of artwork that expresses who they are, e.g. a hobby or interest.

The theme for the 2023 Town Procession was Famous 1st's. 

We want to thank everyone who helped to create our costumes for the procession. You did a wonderful job, they looked amazing.

We would also like to thank all the brilliant children who took part, and special thanks to the staff, parents and supporters who helped on the day.

We would both like to thank you all for your words of encouragement and kind donations. Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated. We both thoroughly enjoyed the skydive.

Miss Manners went through a cloud while I took hold of the toggles, directing the parachute. 

As a collective team of 20, we have raised nearly £20,000. This money will support mental health provision in our local area, benefiting many children.

The Bee-lieve Foundation is a local charity with the mission of supporting young people and their families in dealing positively with the challenges and traumas caused by mental health issues. Below is the link to the charity’s website: https://www.beelievefoundation.co.uk/

As a school, we have been very fortunate to receive support from the Bee-lieve Foundation, including: providing our PSHE Scheme (Connect), a mental health support kit and training for our ELSA team. The 10k challenge provides an opportunity for St Anne’s to continue supporting the Bee-lieve Foundation in raising much needed funds and thanking them for their support thus far.

 We raised £648 on Friday, 19th May 2023 from our Mufti Day & Tuck Shop. 

Family and friends were invited to the assembly to celebrate the occasion.
